Day Eighteen: Whitchurch to Shrewsbury
Day Eighteen Update
Taming of the Shrew sbury Way.
Let me tell you of this fabled trail. I think its nomenclature was coined in the Middle Ages and since then only a handful of pilgrims have stepped out on it.
No paths, the most challenging gates and styles but fortunately a fresh team who monstered this ordeal. Thank you Elaine, Christian and Dawne, all of them fit, svelte and determined. Also Mark, a local who finally put some manners on this fiendishly difficult itinerary, an itinerary that was more successfully confronted fortified by a sumptuous picnic put on by Helen F. This sort of epicurean input is not only vital but also hugely generous.
Lastly my ridiculously good natured and absurdly intelligent Louis, my Baldrick for the day. Loved your company young man …. and the painkillers.
Shrewsbury….. getting there. Slowly. See you tomorrow.
