Day 9

Nottingham to Grantham

Some time mid-morning once the acreage of recriminations had gone into a sulky abeyance, the BBC ran a pitifully whimsical piece on how to get over such a calamitous catastrophic capitulation. It was both glib and absurd (quite the combination even for the BBC). One of the salvations was to 'Talk it out', well that was no help for the first few hours sashaying through Sherwood county, as it appeared everyone was still hungover. It was comfortably the hottest day of the trek so far and that combined with eventual marriage with the bustling A52 made for a frankly brutal five hours with plenty of prickly styles and ferocious brambles that had to be approached with the zeal of a Djed tackle.

Rob, you were both a rock and a hard case today, thank you, see you in a few days. I don't think these paths have been tended for in years, it's sad, there were only a few walkers out, something to do with 33 degrees? Feeling better anyone? Not me either, 41 km will do that to you. Seminal day.

225 miles completed, 775 remaining. How far did you walk today?
