Day 25
Woking to Alton
Broken, not bowed ...
Not me, but I've had a steady feed of medical updates - some colourfully illustrated - of some we've left by the burnt and burnished roadside over the last week as a combination of heat, blisters, strains and niggles have broken yet not defeated some of these fantastic volunteers. The boisterous, vibrant week-end crowd had dwindled to two today, fortunately one was my physio and friend Charlie and he had his work cut out getting his least favourite client match fit. Steph is training for the Great North Run but this was probably more than just a training exercise. Mo hijacked a complete stranger's house for lunch (thank Sam) and the mercury topped at 28.2. Helen stopped by with doughnuts but was broken after a searing catch up yomp across some dusty stubble for 70 mins. (Thanks Helen)
A constant mantra has been 'you can get angry from behind a laptop or pimping Instagram account or you can actually do something about it'. This normally involves pain. Steph and Charlie had plenty of that today, thank you.
625 miles completed. 375 remaining. How far did you walk today?
