Day 10

Grantham to Donington, Spalding

Someone asked me to post a typical day ... there is no such thing, obviously, however, here is today with timings:

05.30 The fan that only had one working control from three packs up
06.30 Shower... cold ....like last night...obvs. Tea, Kenyan, no pot (disgrace)
0645 A lamentable attempt at some Pilates
07.30 Breakfast ... no, doesn't start till 08.00, thanks.
07.45 Meet at Grantham station, pick up new walkers and they accept the unenviable task of leading the trek for the day.
08.01 Depart, bottles filled, snacks, blister plasters, pain killers, rock tape all muled.
11.00 First stop: tea, Soreen, with Lurpak, obvs, as nature intended. 10KM Thanks team
13.45 Huge picnic spread, thanks Helen, second time in a week, big chapeau 22KM
14.20 Five hours of zero paths, 29 degrees, having to porterage the suit before coming out of the dyke (leave it...) battered. Don't know the collective for nettle stings? Dust up with a bailiff, apparently we were trespassing, well maybe provide some paths.
07.40 Finish 40KM
07.45 Physio with the wonderful Liam ('your back's in bits Paul') - an anatomical alchemist.
08.30 Check in, food stopped half an hour ago... Titanic effort Naomh & Erin ... crucial.
08.45 Heavy Metal tribute band starts. Still going, but not really in a musical way at 11pm
Fancy it?

250 miles completed, 750 remaining. How far did you walk today?
